Operational, commercial and mechanical issues related to movement of rails were discussed in a meeting between railway delegations of the two countries at Wagah border.

Indian delegation was led by Ferozepur Divisional Rail Manager Steesh Kumar while Lahore Railways Divisional Superintendent Mubeenuddin led the Pakistani delegation.

Talking to reporters upon his arrival at Wagah, Kumar said that his country was determined to make all out efforts to improve rail links with Pakistan.

"We want to make railway journey with Pakistan more comfortable and find out solutions to all technical and other problems in consultation with Pakistani officials," Kumar added.

He said that complaints regarding rail wagons, engines and movements of goods and passengers would be resolved. A major improvement in rail service between the two countries had been witnessed in recent years, he said and added that still a lot more was needed to be done.
