LAHORE, Oct 14: Punjab Finance Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said said that a meeting of the committee to discuss power sharing formula between coalition partners in the province would be held here on Wednesday (today).

"The committee consisting of senior minister Raja Riaz Ahmad and me (Kaira) from the PPP and Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa and law minister Rana Sanaullah from the PML-N will thoroughly discuss the formula," he added.

Talking to reporters after an Eid milan party organised by the PPP Punjab chapter here on Tuesday, the finance minister said that the PPP wanted remaining part of the coalition in the province and the PML-N should honour the 60-40 formula to run the government affairs in the province.

He said that it was decided by the PML-N and the PPP that none of the coalition partners would contact the PML-Q in order to discourage horse-trading.

Kaira said the PPP believed in democracy and it accepted the mandate of the masses in Punjab and asked the PML-N to form the government.

"If the PML-N does not honour the power-sharing formula, the PPP will decide its future line of action," he added. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari had directed the provincial party leadership to work with the PML-N to strengthen democracy. – APP
