KARACHI, Oct 13: Ghani XI beat Aurora FC 2-0 and Gulshan FC beat Gharib Nawaz Dalmia 5-2 in the two KASB Premier League Football (PLF) matches played at the CDGK Stadium on Sunday.

The first match between Ghani XI and Aurora FC saw the winners scoring in the third minute when their striker Naimatullah made no mistake in beating Aurora’s goalkeeper Shabbir Ahmed to convert midfielder Jamaluddin’s pass. The score at interval was 1-0.

The second session saw Aurora trying their best to restore parity but to no avail. Their substitute striker Mohammad Farhan missed three good chances, all cleared to safety by Ghani’s goalkeeper Khair Mohammad. The winners doubled their lead to seal the fate of the match in the final moments through their left-winger Zia-ul-Rehman.

The second match between Gulshan FC and Gharib Nawaz Dalmia was much more exciting with plenty of action. Even though Gharib Nawaz took the lead twice, they lost to their opponents by three goals in the end.

Striker Ali Mehr headed right-winger Mohammad Saeed’s cross pass in the 10th minute to give Gharib Nawaz their first lead. But their happiness was short-lived as Gulshan FC equalised just two minutes later through a free kick converted by their striker Liaquat Ali.

Another two minutes passed and Gharib Nawaz got ahead again through the solo effort of their striker Zubair Ahmed.

But the 38th minute saw striker Mohammad Yaqoob converting Rizwan Anwar’s pass to again restore parity for Gulshan FC. The score at interval was 2-2.

The second half belonged to the winners entirely as they scored three more goals, this time leaving Gharib Nawaz way behind. The goals were scored by Naeem Baloch (62nd minute), Murad Bakhsh (82nd minute) and Liaquat Ali in the (86th minute) while completely beating Raja Ijaz, Gharib Nawaz’s goalkeeper.
