157 more govt employees sacked

QUETTA, May 9: The number of government employees sacked so far has reached over 400, with a fresh termination of service of another 157 workers on Thursday.

Thirty out of 157 sacked employees belonged to Balochistan Development Authority. Forty-two were employed in the Home and Tribal Affairs department, 21 in Industry, 19 in Irrigation and Power, 37 in Planning and Development and 8 in Mines and Mineral department.

An official notification issued by the department concerned said the sacked employees could submit their appeal to the Chief Secretary within 15 days. These employees were in grade 1 to 15.

Meanwhile, a large number of striking employees called off their protest and resumed their duties after receiving show-cause notices issued by their respective departments, reports our staff correspondent.
