DERA GHAZI KHAN, May 9: The district police have yet to recover a girl from the clutches of Gorchani Sardars even after four days of her kidnap.

Reports said, FA student Roop was on her way to a tuition centre when Pervez Gorchani’s son Sher Ali Gorchani kidnapped the girl on Sunday. He took the girl to the Gorchani Manzil near Block 13 where he parked the car (Karachi-0745) and took her to an unknown place by another car.

The police raided the Gorchani Manzil but returned without success. It is learnt accused’s uncle is a police officer and the police was deliberately avoiding taking up the issue.

Meanwhile, the mother of the kidnapped girl has appealed to the president, the Punjab governor and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan for the recovery of her daughter.

She alleged the local SSP and DSP were supporting the Gorchani Sardar. She said the Gorchani chief was backing his son in kidnapping of her daughter.

Records said Gorchani chief had kidnapped a girl and was booked by the Jampur police station at least 23 years ago.

The girl’s mother claimed the accused had threatened the family with dire consequences. She told newsmen at young lawyers’ forum that her family was in danger.

Meanwhile, the lawyers’ forum has condemned the apathy of the police, demanding the safe recovery of the innocent girl.

The incident brought a wave of insecurity among people whose daughters have been getting education in schools and colleges.

INQUIRY: The local SSP has ordered an inquiry into registration of case against one Husain Ahmad Aliani who was ‘wrongfully’ booked by Choti Zaireen police under the Narcotics Act.

According to details, Ahmad and his friend were arrested by police on May 6, 2002, under the Narcotics Act. The Choti police challaned them the next day and sent them to jail.

The accused’s brother lodged an application to the SSP, claiming the police had arrested his brother from a house near to his house while they had mentioned some other place in the FIR.

He claimed his brother was an addict and was under treatment of doctor, adding the police arrested him without any justification.

The SSP has deputed Headquarters DSP Mehar Zulfiqar an inquiry officer who will inspect the place of arrest and will take statements of eyewitnesses.
