Badminton squad leave for Syria today

LAHORE, Oct 12: A five-member Pakistan badminton team leaves for Damascus, Syria, on Monday to participate in the Syrian International series to be held in Damascus from Oct 14 to 17.

Rizwan Azam and Mohammad Attique had won the gold medal in the men’s doubles in the same tournament last year. They are expected to win the gold again this year as they are seeded No 1 in the draws.

The other Pakistani pair Wajid Ali and Ahsan Qamar are seeded No 2 in men’s doubles. Wajid is also seeded No 2 in men’s singles.

Players:

Men: Wajid Ali Chuadhry, Ahsan Qamar, Rizwan Azam and Mohammad Attique.
