Shabbir retains Professionals title

ISLAMABAD, Oct 12: Shabbir Iqbal won professionals category at the President of Pakistan Gold Medal golf championship while Azhar Shah Bukhari landed the title trophy by winning Amateurs Net competition at the Islamabad Golf Club on Sunday.

Shabbir, also the defending champion, was eight strokes ahead at the end of day with two on Saturday and maintained the lead on the third day to score 203.

Waheed Baloch finished with a score of 211 followed by Mohammad Tariq who finished third, six strokes further behind.

In the Amateurs Net category, Azhar Shah Bukhari scored 216, followed by Saleem Raza (219) and Inayatullah (225).

In the ladies gross category, Ami Qin grabbed the title with a score of 172, leaving behind Tahira Nazir with 176.

Shahzadi Gulfam’s gross score was 190 as she claimed the third position.

However, Shahida Ismail clinched the ladies net category with a score of 151 with a single stroke lead, as her challenger Salma remained second with score of 152.
