HYDERABAD, May 9: The supreme council of the Sindh Employees Alliance (SEA) has condemned the large-scale sacking of the government employees by the Balochistan government and termed it a violation of the human rights’ charter.

The supreme council, at a meeting held here on Wednesday, demanded of the federal government to order the immediate reinstatement of the sacked employees.

It notified that a meeting would be held at the Government High School, Hyderabad, on May 14 under the auspices of the Pakistan United Teachers Front (PUTF). The office-bearers of the PUTF from the four provinces, FATA and Azad Kashmir would speak at the meeting.

Condemning the murders of doctors and teachers in Karachi, the meeting demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.

It also expressed concern over the kidnapping of Prof Mohammad Hussain Leghari and the inordinate delay in his recovery.

The meeting constituted a committee to hold negotiations with the provincial secretary for education on May 11 and gave final shape to the charter of demands.

It adopted several resolutions, demanding the withdrawal of decision in respect of privatization of the educational institutions, issuance of covering notification about the already accepted demands of the alliance, removal of the EDO (education), Sukkur, Ms Rafia Naz Pathan.

The meeting demanded the withdrawal of expulsion orders of the teachers of Sukkur, withdrawal of the illegal amalgamated seniority list of teachers, issuance of covering notification in respect of the remaining promotions and move-over cases of teachers and cancellation of FIR against the teachers.

It further demanded that the shortage of teachers, furniture, scientific equipments and computers in the educational institutions should be removed.

The meeting was presided over by Prof Liaquat Aziz.
