IHC’s seven benches for next week

ISLAMABAD, Oct 11: The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has constituted five single benches and two division benches for the next week starting from November 13.

Five single benches include Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam, Justice Mohammad Munir Paracha, Justice Dr Sajid Qureshi, Justice Syed Qalbe Hassan and Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan.

The first Division bench (DB) comprising Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam and Justice Raja Saeed Akram while the second bench including Justice Mohammad Munir Paracha and Justice Syed Qalbe Hassan will hear cases related to Federal Capital Territory.

227 CASES DISPOSED OF : The Supreme Court of Pakistan has disposed of 227 cases whereas 128 new cases have been instituted during the last week ending on October 10.

Its principal seat disposed of 62 cases, Lahore branch registry 91 cases, Karachi branch registry 35 and Peshawar branch registry 39 cases.

The backlog in the Apex Court on September 30 was 16,812 cases, which now stood at 16,713 cases after the disposal of these cases.

As 128 new cases were instituted during the period from October 6 to October 10, the progressive total of pending cases on October 10 comes to 16,940 cases.—APP
