CHAKWAL, Oct 11: The city police have foiled a bid to smuggle 800 bags of wheat floor to NWFP and arrested two persons in this connection.
A statement issued here on Saturday said the police had also impounded the trucks loaded with these bags and registered cases against the driver and conductor.
Meanwhile, the police in different operations against the anti-social elements have arrested four persons allegedly involved in various heinous crimes and recovered illicit arms and narcotics from their possession.
The police recovered two bottles of liquor from Nadeem Hussain and Faizan Ali Bangush, while 15grams heroin was recovered from Tahir Ali, resident of Moti Bazaar.
And the Choa Saiden Shah police apprehended Muhammad Yousaf, resident of village Dheri Jaba, and recovered 130grams chars from him. The police also recovered 130grams chars from Azhar Mehmood of the same village.
The police have registered separate cases against the accused and sent all of them to judicial lockup for further investigation.—APP
