MITHI, Oct 11: As many as 1,594 candidates appeared in the tests and interviews for non-teaching posts of BPS-5 to BPS-15 in the education department held here at the main primary school on Saturday.

It would be pertinent to mention here that around 78 non-teaching posts were lying vacant in the district education department for which 2,380 applications had been received.

Meanwhile, sources in the education department told Dawn that about 1,500 posts of PST, JST and HST had also been lying vacant in the district for which applications were invited by the education department. However, due to the condition of BEd, PTC and CT for the posts, only 20 applications had been received in a week so far.
