SUKKUR, Oct 11: Mirpur Mathelo police booked four men on Saturday on charges of attempting to sexually assault a woman in Mir Khan Waseer village earlier in the day.

Reports reaching here said that the woman, wife of Athar Waseer, told police at Mirpur Mathelo police station that she was cutting grass near her home when her father-in-law Mureed Waseer and his sons Mohammad Ali, Maqsood and Mumtaz Ali tried to sexually assault her. But they escaped when she raised alarm and villagers came to her rescue, she said.

Police have registered an FIR against the four men on a complaint lodged by Allah Rakhio Waseer, brother of the woman.

KILLED: Unknown armed men gunned down one Sanaullah Chachar over old enmity in the katcha area of Katcho Bhindi police limits of Ghotki district on Saturday.

Reports said that Chachar was walking to his home when three unknown armed men shot him dead and fled. The villagers claimed that the murder was an offshoot of an old enmity.

Police shifted the body to local hospital for post mortem but did not file any case.

INJURED: Six people, including women and children, were injured seriously in a clash between two groups of Bhatti community over an old dispute in Noor Mohammad Bhatti Muhalla in Thull on Saturday.

Reports reaching here said that the groups clashed with wooden sticks and hatchets over an old karo-kari dispute. The injured were moved to taluka hospital.

ENTRY TEST: The Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur on Saturday announced that entry test for admission to BBA Part-I and MBA (Previous) for 2008-09 (morning and evening classes) would be held on Oct 14 and 15 at 3.00 p.m. at the university premises.
