LARKANA, Oct 11: The district support manager (DSM) of the People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) issued show-cause notices to doctors and paramedics after he found them absent during raids on three government dispensaries and basic health units on Saturday.

Ghulam Abbas Detho raided government dispensaries in Kot Bhutto, Abad Bhutto and Aghani and basic health unit Saeedodero and found no staff during duty hours.

He also found in-charge of Unani Shafakhana Mahota absent and in-charge doctor Badaruddain Channa of government dispensary Mehar Buriro busy practicing at his private clinic during office hours.

The DSM said that Dr Sanji Kumar was caught doing two jobs simultaneously at Basic Health Unit Khanwah and at children’s hospital of Chandka Medical College Larkana.

The doctor was served with a final show-cause notice.

MURDER: Two armed motorcyclists on Saturday shot at and killed Nazar Mohammed Narejo, a clerk in mukhtiarkar’s office, outside the office and sped away.

The deceased was the son of Allan Narejo, a senior steward of Z.A. Bhutto’s family. His brother ASI Abdul Majeed Narejo accused Chandios of killing his brother.

He said that on June 3 Abdul Hafeez alias Guddo Chandio was killed in a shootout with police while escaping after committing a robbery. His family had been receiving threats since then, the ASI said.
