21 die in Upper Dir accident

UPPER DIR, Oct 9: At least 21 people were killed and four others were injured when an overloaded pick-up truck fell into river Kohistan in Upper Dir district on Thursday.

The driver lost control over the vehicle carrying 25 passengers near Chinarano village.

Three of the victims belonged to the same family.

The injured were taken to the Dir hospital where the condition of three of them was critical.

The vehicle was going from Gualdai area of Kohistan to

Dir Khass, the district headquarters.
