Veiled man held at Islamabad airport

RAWALPINDI, Oct 9: Police have been interrogating a man after he was arrested while acting suspiciously at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Thursday.

The suspect, identified as Zahid Shah, was wearing veil, a T-shirt and shalwar when spotted by the airport security staff.

During initial investigation, the man said that he was looking for his estranged wife who had left the house and returned to her parents in Abbottabad.

The suspect belongs to Karachi and had come to the Islamabad airport in search of his wife.

He was carrying return ticket and a hand bag containing his belongings.

Later, two accomplices of the suspect were arrested by the local police.

The arrests came after one of them contacted Zahid Shah on his cell phone.

A police inspector responded the call and asked both the men to reach the airport.

A security source said as the two men identified as Yunas and Awais, came to the airport in a car police arrested them and shifted to an undisclosed place for investigation.

A press release issued by the Airport Security Force said a man in veil was arrested from the airport premises while he was heading towards domestic departure lounge.
