LAHORE, Oct 8: Non-governmental organisations united on Wednesday to condemn terror attacks in the Garhi Shahu area.

Sufyan Arshad, spokesperson for the Campaign for Democracy and Rule of Law in Pakistan (CDRLP), an umbrella group, condemned the spate of bombings in the country, killing scores of innocent people.

“The people would like to hear about a plan by the government to counter this threat,” he said.

He added that it was the government’s duty to guarantee security of life to its people. The CDRLP comprises members from the Women’s Action Forum, the Join Action Committee and the Lahore High Court Bar Association, among others.

Arshad added the group would hold a peace march from the press club to Charing Cross next week.
