RAWALPINDI, Oct 7: An anti terrorism court here on Tuesday declared Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud and 10 other men as proclaimed offenders in a case regarding a plot against former president Pervez Musharraf and directed the police to attach their properties. ATC No. II Judge Sakhi Mohammad Kahot passed the orders for Baitullah Mehsud (South Waziristan), Salman Munir Dar (Dhamial Rawalpindi), Mohammad Ijaz (Wah), Noor Mohammad (Malakand), Saeed and Waseem (Churr Rawalpindi), Obaidur Rehman and Sardar (Swat), Rehan (Miramshah), Commander Tariq (Darra Adamkhel) and Wali Mohammad (South Waziristan).

The decision was announced after the police stated in the court they could not arrest the accused and had pasted their “Wanted” posters at prescribes places.

The accused are wanted for their alleged role in planning suicide attacks on the former president and other prominent personalities.

The scheme was foiled by the law enforcement agencies on June 1 after they seized three vehicles laden with over 1,000kg explosive material and arrested six men from Sadiqabad, a densely populated area in Rawalpindi city. Six other men were arrested after the initial interrogation.
