PESHAWAR, Oct 5: The Awami National Party has termed the suicide attack on party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan a bid to push Pakhtuns to the wall.

This was stated by Gul Meena Bilal, member working committee of the ANP while talking to women activists on the occasion of ‘Qurankhwani’ for the departed souls of the Charsadda suicide blast here at the Bacha Khan Markaz on Sunday.

She said that hundreds of thousands of Pakhtuns had rendered sacrifices for the cause of their homeland, adding they were now facing terrorism on their own soil. She said that those who carried out the suicide blast had in fact a venomous agenda to push the Pakhtuns into the blind alley of backwardness.

The ANP leader resolved that her party would continue to serve the masses with the ‘traditional zeal’, saying during last six months the ANP carried out various developmental works.

She was of the view that her party’s initiative to bring peace and prosperity to the region did not go well with the enemy, which was trying to sabotage the process. —Bureau Report
