Mysterious death of Woman convert

Published October 5, 2008

SUKKUR, Oct 4: A Hindu girl who converted to Islam six years ago to marry Nadeem Ghouri was killed in mysterious circumstances at Bhutta road, “A” section police limits, Sukkur on Eid day.

According to reports, Neesha Kumari of Sukkur left her home in 2002 and after embracing Islam got married with the man of her choice. She was named Aisha. The couple were said to be leading a happy life.

However, according to sources, Aisha died after being tortured by her husband Nadeem Ghouri and his brother Naeem Ghouri following some domestic dispute, while her body was thrown from the balcony of a four-storied building to give it the colour of a suicide.

Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital, Sukkur for post-mortem whose report will be issued on Monday. Police sources claimed that there were visible torture marks on the body of deceased Aisha because of which police arrested both the brothers. However, no one turned up to lodge an FIR.

An official at “A” section police station said that if an FIR was not registered by anyone then the state would get it registered. Sources also claimed that parents of Aisha had migrated to India after her conversion to Islam.—Correspondent
