BANNU, Sept 28: A policeman and a suspected militant were killed in a shootout here on Saturday night.
Officials said that a police patrol near Hawaid Adda saw some people who appeared to be militants and ordered them to surrender. But the armed men opened fire killing the driver of the police party, Imran Khan.
Police fired back and killed one of the militant, Ali Sher, while others escaped.
The police party seized a vehicle left by the suspected militants and found a light machine-gun in it.
