Waqar steers Ideal CC to last four

KARACHI, Sept 25: All-rounder Waqar Osaf inspired Ideal Cricket Club into the Karachi Gymkhana Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament semi-finals, as they beat Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club by 31 runs at the KG Ground on Wednesday.

Faraz Ahmed Khan top-scored with 39 in 20 balls and Waqar struck 35 as Ideal CC made 128 all out in 19.3 overs. Wajihuddin claimed four wickets for 16.

Mohammad Hussain CC, in response, were bowled out for 97 in 19 overs. Test batsman Faisal Iqbal made 30.

Waqar Osaf claimed two wickets for 34 and was named the man-of-the-match.

In a match played on Tuesday, defending champions Medicam Cricket Club stormed into the semi-finals, overwhelming Sindh Police by 118 runs.
