BAHAWALPUR, Sept 24: At least 50 contract employees of the Cholistan Development Authority (CDA) were terminated on Wednesday.
It was learnt that 16 patwaris and the technical staff were among the sacked employees from grade one to 16.
Confirming the removal of officials, CDA managing director Ikramullah Khan said that most of them had been given contracts in violation of rules and regulations.
He said that they had been favoured by floating the set procedure of recruitment. He said that scores of other undeserved contract employees had also been denied extension.
Mr Khan said that fresh appointments would be made by following set rules of recruitment by inviting applications through advertisements.
