BEIJING, Sept 23: A senior Chinese military official has pledged to strengthen exchanges between China and Pakistan in the defence sector.

In the meeting with Chief of the Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chinese Central Military Commission’s Vice-Chairman Guo Boxiong praised fruitful cooperation between the two sides over the years, Xinhua news agency reported on Monday.

He said Pakistan and China had made positive contributions to regional and world peace, stability and development and their political, economic, military, cultural and technological cooperation was remarkable.

China highly valued its all-round strategic cooperative partnership with Pakistan, he said, adding that the ties could be raised to a new level.
