Gastroenteritis hits Kachho

DADU, Sept 21: One child died and 17 people suffering from gastroenteritis in some villages of the Kachho belt were admitted to hospital on Sunday.

Sadam 13, of village KT Wassan, died of gastroenteritis.

Condition of Mohammad Urs, Allah Dino Rodhnani, Haji Allah Bux Rodhnani, Mohammad Ramzan, Sakina Laghari and Mohammad Omer was stated to be serious.

A gastroenteritis patient, Haji Bux, told journalists at Taluka Hospital Johi that there was shortage of medicines in the hospital.

He said that patients of gastroenteritis were not getting proper medicines in this hospital.

He demanded of Sindh chief minister to direct secretary health Sindh to ensure availability of medicines and proper treatment.

Medical Superintendent of Taluka Hospital Johi, Dr Mohammad Hashim Thahim, said that hospital administration was providing all kinds of medicines to the patients.

He said that teams of doctors would be sent to the affected areas.

The patients complained about shortages of medicines at basic health units, and government hospitals, as the EDO health office was not reportedly providing medicines.

INJURED: Thirteen persons were injured in a clash between two groups of Kalhora community over a land dispute in Allah Ditto Kalhoro Village of Khairpur Nathan Shah taluka on Sunday.

All the injured were admitted to the Taluka Hospital of Khairpur Nathan Shah.
