QUETTA, May 8: A former federal minister and the joint secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League (QA), Dr Mir Haji Khan Tareen, has called upon all political parties to take part in the October’s general election for strengthening democracy and democratic institutions in the country.

Speaking at a press conference, with Sardar Israr Khan Tareen, here on Wednesday, he warned that if any party boycotted the polls, it would remain alone and would lose political ground.

The PML-QA wanted to see flourishing democracy in the country and it would be possible when all parties would make efforts in a positive way, he said, adding that as for as the PML-QA was concerned, its would fully participate in the polls.

Dr Tareen, while replying to a question, said if elected to power, PML-AQ prime minister would work under the check and balance system with the president as had been proposed by Gen Pervez Musharraf.
