ISLAMABAD, Sept 19: The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Pakistan Dairy Development Company (PDDC) have reached an agreement to support community-based dairy development programmes.
Kamal Hyat of the PPAF and Geoff Walker of the PDDC signed on Friday an agreement under which a pilot project would be launched in Narowal district to help 30 farming communities.
Under the agreement, the PPAF would facilitate linkages between its partner organisations and the PDDC for the benefit of poor dairy farmers, while the PDDC would provide technical assistance and marketing linkages.
The PPAF enjoys support of the government, the World Bank and other international donors. Its outreach extends to the entire country and it has expanded its micro-credit, community physical infrastructure, drought mitigation and education and health interventions.
