KARACHI, Oct 6: Allied Bank had to be contended with first innings points after their Patron’s Trophy Grade-I encounter against Wapda petered out in a tame draw at Sheikhupura Stadium Saturday.
Wapda reached 88 for four in their second innings after being set a meaningless target of 325 when the match was called off on the fourth and final day, according to details available here.
Earlier, Allied Bank, who had gained a first innings advantage of 145, were bowled out for 179 in their second knock.
Former Test right-hander Ijaz Ahmed Junior followed his 103 in the first innings with another responsible knock of 75 until he was last out. Ijaz’s 171-ball innings included eight fours.
Taimur Khan was the other main scorer with a 72-ball 40, including six hits to the fence, during a fifth wicket partnership of 65 with Ijaz.
Wapda’s off-spinner Aqeel Ahmed completed a match haul of nine for 254 by picking three for 73. Left-arm medium-pacer Sarfraz Ahmed also claimed three wickets, conceding 30 runs in 13 overs.
