LAHORE, Sept 17: Punjab Population Welfare Minister Neelam Jabbar says the government has earmarked Rs130 billion for minimising hardships of people.
Talking to a delegation here on Wednesday, the minister said Rs30 billion would be spent on the provision of food to the people while Rs1 billion were proposed to be spent on the provision of homes to shelterless people.
A sum of Rs200 million had been earmarked for awarding scholarships to students of professional educational institutions.
INFRASTRUCTURE: Punjab Senior Minister Raja Riaz says the government will spend Rs30 billion on improving socio-industrial infrastructure in the province during the current financial year, for providing good living conditions to the ordinary people.
Talking to delegations of political workers at his residence here on Wednesday, the minister said the government was spending Rs17.5 billion on roads development, Rs15.23 billion on construction of public buildings and another Rs6.76 billion on urban development.
