LONDON, Sept 15: London Mayor Boris Johnson left for Beijing on Monday to accept the Paralympic flag at the Games’ closing ceremony, his office said.

London will host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Johnson was in the Chinese capital to collect the Olympic flag last month.

“I am honoured to be representing London in Beijing at the closing ceremony of the 2008 Paralympic Games and keen to see first hand what we can learn and improve on for the London Games,” said Johnson.—AFP
