Hasan misses century in 2nd innings

KARACHI, Sept 14: Mohammad Hasan missed the unique distinction of scoring a century in each innings of the match as Karachi Blues’ three-day match against Lahore Shalimar in the PCB Inter-region Under-19 cricket championship ended in a draw at the PCB Academy ground on Sunday.

Karachi Blues’ captain and wicket-keeper batsman Hasan followed his 124 in the first innings with a superb 92 in the second innings as his team was bowled out for 256.

Hasan lifted his team from a difficult 95-5 position with a 98-run sixth-wicket stand with Abdul Jabbar.

Hasan slammed 13 boundaries in his 92 off 164 balls after batting for 208 minutes.

Jabbar struck seven fours in his 50 and Shahzaib Hasan’s 44 were studded with seven fours and one six.

Needing 302 in 15 overs to win, Lahore Shalimar scored 34 for no loss when the match was called off. Karachi Blues however collected three points from the first innings lead.
