Published September 15, 2008

KARACHI, Sept 14: The city government has decided to demolish the houses falling in the project site of the 1.75-km-long flyover between Shah Faisal Colony and Korangi.

A meeting chaired by City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on Sunday decided to initiate the construction work for the completion of the Malir River flyover, being built at a cost of Rs1.25 billion, on Monday.

Owners of the 33 out of the 43 houses to be affected by the flyover construction have already been given the compensation cheques and alternative land. The meeting noted that owners of only 12 houses had so far started demolishing their houses.—APP
