GUJRANWALA, Sept 12: An executive engineer, the deputy collector and five other officials of the Irrigation department were booked for tampering with an official record here on Friday.
Zulfiqar Ali Aulakh of Lalupur moved the court alleging that excutive engineer Abdul Sattar Niazi, deputy collector Maqsood Khan and five other officials had imposed water surcharge on him in back dates after tampering with the official record.
On the orders of an additional and sessions judge, the Civil Lines police have registered a case against the accused irrigation officials with no arrest.
RELEASED: The FIA (passport cell), Gujranwala, who had arrested 350 people from Islamabad airport after they were deported by the Turkish government, were released after interrogation here on Friday.
Agency additional director Hussain Asghar and SHO Mian Sabir along with their squad reached Islamabad and arrested the deportees arrived from Turkey in two flights.
The SHO said that these deportees were released after they were interrogated about human agents. He said that FIA teams were conducting raids for the arrest of these human agents.
MATRIC EXAMS: The supplementary examination of the matriculation will commence from Saturday (today).
BISC chairman Akram Chaudhry said on Friday that all arrangements had been made in this regard.
STRIKE: Nurses of the DHQ Hospital went on a strike to protest the termination of their two colleagues on Friday.
Reports said that the district administration had sacked two nurses on the charge of negligence of duty a few days ago.
The protesting nurses demanded the reinstatement of their two colleagues.
