16 bonded labourers freed

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 11: The district and sessions judge, Mirpurkhas got released around 16 bonded labourers, here on Thursday.

An application was submitted in the court of district and sessions judge Mirpurkhas, Abdul Rasheed Soomro on September 8 by Oad Badar complaining that 16 members of a family, including women and children were forcibly working at the brick klin of Mohammed Liaquat located at Mirwah Road since one year. He stated that the movement of these people was restricted.

District and Sessions Judge directed the SHO taluka police station to conduct raid and get released the bonded labourers.

SHO taluka police station Ghulam Nabi Shah conducted raid at the brick kiln on Wedensday and got released 16 bonded labourers, including women and children.

The bonded labourers were produced before the district and sessions court here on Thursday. The district and sessions judge heard counsel of the bonded labourers, Kanjimal Meghwar and recorded statements of the released and later allowed them to live freely and directed taluka police to provide protection to them.
