KARACHI, Sept 11: Justice Qaiser Iqbal of Sindh High Court on Thursday dismissed bail application of a private security company’s guard in a case pertaining to a Rs30 million dacoity.

According to the charge-sheet, Mohammad Shakeel, son of Muqtadar Khan, had been working in a security guards firm with the fake name of Shah Nawaz during 2004. He robbed Zafar Sultan Paracha of Rs39.791 million cash while on duty to escort him to the Karachi airport.

Counsel for the accused had filed a bail application. The prosecution, however, contested the bail plea submitting that Rs0.2 million had been recovered from accused who was also identified by complainant.

Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court directed the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) to seal off an illegal construction site in North Nazimabad.

The directive came on a petition filed by four residents of the Improved Scheme No. 2 against the CDGK, chief controller of the KBCA and UC-4 nazim of North Nazimabad Town.

The SHC division bench comprised Justice Muneeb Ahmed Khan and Justice Dr Rana Mohammad Shamim.—PPI
