Ideal CC reach KG cricket quarters

KARACHI, Sept 10: Faraz Ahmed Khan’s excellent all-round show helped Ideal Cricket Club beat Dewan Farooq Motors by six wickets to become the first team to reach the Karachi Gymkhana Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament quarter-finals at the KG Ground on Tuesday.

Besides Faraz who made 29, Waqas Ausaf played a cameo of 16 not out off just seven deliveries with two sixes as Ideal CC, needing 13 runs in the final over, reached the target with two balls to spare.

Ideal CC reached the target of 112 in 19.4 overs for the loss of four wickets. Irfan Ali set the pace with a sparkling 40 with four boundaries and brace of sixes.

Earlier, Dewan Farooq were bowled out for 111 in 19.3 overs. Naved Khan made 32 off 30 balls and Nadir Ansari hit 29 studded with three fours.
