Nine hurt as rivals clash

SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 10: Nine people of two opponent groups suffered injuries when they exchanged fire over a minor dispute at Kot Nadeem in the Saddar police precinct on Wednesday.

Reports said the Dogar and Pathan groups quarrelled over the construction of a passage in their locality. They whipped out their weapons and opened fire as a result of which Khan Bakht, Alamgir, Badar Alam, Arif, Ahmad Ali and Ayat Ali of Pathan group and Ishaq Azam and Zakaullah of the rival party suffered injuries. Badar, Arif, Zakaullah and Ahmad Ali were taken to hospitals in critical condition. The Saddar police are investigating.
