PSF camp for juniors

ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) on Saturday launched a training session for 12 junior players at Mushaf Squash Complex in preparation for the Asian Junior Championship, scheduled to be held in India in February 2009.

An official of PSF told Dawn that the camp will continue during the month of September. “It is one of the training sessions for the series which will be held till the final selection of the four players in January 2009” he said.

Pakistan is currently the Asian Junior Champion of the 2007 tournament held in Hong Kong. The four-member team, he said, will defend Pakistan’s title in the event.

“Top-seeded national players from U-15, U-17 and U-19 categories will participate in the training sessions” the official concluded.

Following are the players invited to training camp: Waqar Mehboob, Waqas Mehboob, Mohammad Bilal, Shoaib Hasan, Aurangzeb Mohmand, Bilal Zakir, Saddam ul Haq, Nasir Iqbal, Ammad, Waqas Gul, Haroon.—Sports Reporter
