HYDERABAD, Sept 6: A woman councillor has appealed to Prime Minister, Sindh Chief Minister and concerned government functionaries to help her against land grabbers.

Councillor, Union Council No:4 Qasimabad, Ms Yasmin Mallah, widow of Juma Mallah has accused members of Palari community of land grabbing.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday, she said that her village Sanjar Mallah was the oldest village of Qasimabad and her family owned large landed property.

She alleged that Palaris and their henchmen with the connivance of Revenue Department tried to occupy seven acres of her land in Jamshoro on which she went there and told land grabbers to refrain from their design. Land grabbers instead hit her on head with a spade causing serious head which kept her in the hospital for four days.

Yasmin Mallah also President of the Insaan Dost Welfare Association complained that she even produced medical certificate before police but no FIR was registered as Palaris were influential people.

She appealed to the Prime Minister and Sindh Chief Minister to provide protection against Palaris who were threatening her of dire consequences.

DEMO: A large number of commission pass lecturers under the banner of Lecturers Action Committee here on Saturday, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club against rejection of their posting order summary by the Sindh Chief Minister.
