KARACHI Sept 6: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Saturday celebrated the Defence of Pakistan Day with the traditional zeal and fervour in the metropolis.

The day began with Quran khawani at various PAF mosques across Karachi and special prayers were offered for the martyrs of the September 1965 war.

A guard mounting ceremony was held at the Mazar-i-Quaid in which a contingent of cadets from the PAF Academy Risalpur took over guard duties.

Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy Air Vice Marshal Safdar Khan inspected the guard of honour and laid a floral wreath at the Mazar. The ceremony was attended by people belonging to all walks of life including a large number of students from various PAF schools and colleges.—APP
