HYDERABAD, Sept 4: Lawyers observed partial boycott of proceedings of high court and complete boycott of proceedings of lower courts here on Thursday to protest against delay in reinstatement of deposed judges of superior courts.

Some lawyers appeared before the Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court but none of them turned up in the civil and sessions courts.

Wearing black armbands, lawyers took out a rally from the district bar. They were led by the president of the Hyderabad chapter of the SHBC, Abdul Sattar Kazi, general secretary Nisar Durrani, joint secretary Ayaz Tunio, Sultan Sheikh and others.

Participants of the rally raised slogans in support of deposed chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and vowed to continue their struggle till reinstatement of deposed judges. demanded arrest of former president Pervez Musharraf.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kazi said that their struggle would continue and they would not rest at peace until reinstatement of the deposed chief justice.

He demanded restoration of 1973 Constitution as it stood on October 12,

1999 and repeal of its article 58(2)b and 17th amendment.

In Sanghar, lawyers boycotted court proceedings, wore black armbands and hoisted black flag atop the district bar building.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanghar District Bar Association general secretary Zafar Hayat, Mukhtiar Bhatti, Sher Gul Niazi, Ratan Kumar and others said that their struggle would continue till restoration of independence of judiciary.

In Kandhkot, lawyers observed token hunger strike at the district bar room. They vowed to continue protest till reinstatement of Iftikhar Chaudhry and other deposed judges.
