HYDERABAD, Sept 2: A documentary film on the life of great Sufi saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai will be made to make people aware of his stature.

The documentary would also help in spreading the message of peace, love, and brotherhood among the people of all religions, casts, thought and languages.

Additional Chief Secretary of Sindh Nazar Mohammad Mahar said this in a recent meeting presided over by him at Bhit Shah Town.

Officers of various departments attended the meeting. It discussed provision of facilities to the people and visitors of Bhit Shah and reviewed the repair and renovation work of the shrine of Shah Latif.

The additional chief secretary called upon the officials to provide maximum facilities to the pilgrims so that they should not face any difficulty while paying respects to the great mystic poet of the world.

The present government, he said, was interested in preservation of cultural heritage, maintenance of historic towns and the beautification of Bhit Shah was a part of that plan.

Mr Mahar said under the government’s directives, a master plan for the development and beautification of Bhitshah Town was being prepared through which facilities of health, education, drainage, sewerage and safe drinking water would also be provided to the residents.

Traffic management as well as water availability in the historic Karrar Lake and removal of encroachments would also be ensured under the plan, he added.

He said private firms had been invited for implementation of the master plan and added that development schemes would be executed in consultation with the local people.—APP
