PESHAWAR, Sept 2: NWFP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour has said the NWFP government will file a case against the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority in the high court to remove disparity in power tariff.

Talking to journalists on the occasion of distribution of relief goods sent by the Punjab government here on Tuesday, he said electricity was cheaper in Hyderabad and Punjab as compared to the NWFP.

“We have already taken up the issue with Nepra and in case of failure, the NWFP government will file a case in the high court,” he added.

He said lawmakers of the Awami National Party and the People’s Party in the NWFP would vote for Asif Ali Zardari in the presidential election and expressed the confidence that he would get maximum votes from provincial legislatures.

About the military operation in Swat, Bashir Bilour said it was in reaction to Taliban’s actions.

PML-N general secretary Iqbal Zafar Jirga said on the occasion that his party was against the way the federal government had adopted for restoration of deposed judges.

He, however, said: “We will support government’s decisions, which are in favour of the country.”

About the PML-N government in Punjab, he said it was stable and there was no danger to it. – APP

Our Correspondent adds: The Punjab government donated 33 trucks loaded with relief goods for displaced people of the Bajaur Agency, which were handed over to the regional coordination officer here on Tuesday.

The relief items were sent by the administrations of Lahore and Rawalpindi on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, said an official handout.

The relief goods include 23 trucks of flour, three trucks of sugar, two trucks of rice, three trucks of mineral water and one truck each of pulses and ghee.

Earlier, 30 trucks loaded with relief items had been sent for the displaced people that, besides food items, also contained medicines.

The relief goods were handed over by Punjab Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Dost Mohammad Khosa to NWFP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour.

Bashir Bilour thanked the government and the people of Punjab for providing relief goods for the displaced people of Bajaur and hoped that the federal government, other provinces and international donor agencies would also help the affected people.
