MANSEHRA, Oct 24: The Nazim of Jallo union council, Asif Khan, paid a surprise visit to the basic health unit at Bagh Bande where he found irregularities in record and recovered official medicines from the concerned doctor’s house.

Official sources told Dawn that the Nazim had paid the visit after residents of the locality had, in a written complaint, alleged that the hospital’s medicines were sold and the doctor was charging fee.

The Nazim found three officials absent from their duties since long though they were regularly receiving their salaries.

Accompanied by the executive district health officer, the Nazim came to know that the medical equipment and other official goods worth lakhs of rupees had either been sold or shifted to the houses of the staff.
