LAHORE, Sept 1: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Deputy Secretary-General Dr Farid Piracha and information secretary Ameerul Azim have expressed concern at confrontation between flour mill owners and the Punjab government which is leading to acute shortage of the commodity in the open market.
In a joint statement issued here on Monday, the JI leaders urged the chief minister not to do politics on the issue and ensure availability of flour in Ramazan.
It was imprudent on the part of the Punjab government to appoint their administrators and deploy forces at mills, they said and added that it had created a rift between the millers and the government. — Staff Reporter
