ISLAMABAD, May 7: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Prof Attaur Rehman on Tuesday expressed concern over slow pace of EPI vaccacines production, including oral polio, measles and tetanus toadied.

Presiding over a follow up meeting on the National Commission for Science and Technology programmes, the minister emphasized the need for ensuring prompt production of these vaccines.

In an official statement issued here on Tuesday Dr Rehman noted that his ministry had so far approved eight biotechnology projects worth Rs40 million.

During the meeting, the minister was told that more projects were in the pipelines and during this financial year projects worth Rs100 million would be approved.

The minister reviewed implementation status of all the programmes and issued instructions to solve the problems in the implementation process.
