Bahawalpur to face Lahore in final

LAHORE, Aug 31: The 2nd blind Independence Cup cricket tournament saw two matches decided on Sunday.

A fine century by Jameel Ahmed (128) helped Azad Kashmir beat Peshawar by a big margin of 201 runs at the PAF Ground.

Batting first, AJK piled up 353-7 in the allotted 40 overs. Irfan Majeed (95) was the other key scorer for Azad Kashmir.

In reply, Peshawar could only reach 152 before getting out in 40 overs. Babar Ali with 40 runs remained the top scorer.

In other match, Bahawalpur, who had already qualified for the final, outclassed Okara by 150 runs. Batting first, Bahawalpur hit 293-8 in 40 overs with Zohaib (65) and Sabir Bhatti (55) as their top scorers. In reply, Okara were bowled out for 143.

The final will be played between Bahawalpur and Lahore on Monday.
