NAROWAL, Aug 31: Building and some vehicles were partially damaged when alleged extortionists attacked a local filling station with a hand grenade on Saturday night. It was second incident of its kind during this week.
The assailants threw the indigenous grenade at Narowal Filling Station from its rear side and fled.
Umar Ayaz, the owner of the filling station, said some extortionists were demanding ransom to the tune of Rs2 million from him on telephone for the past few days but he had refused to pay them any money. He said the incident was indeed an effort to harass him.
A few days ago, some culprits had attacked the residence of Muhammad Safdar Mirza, who is Narowal Chemists and Druggists Association president, for refusing to pay the extortion money.—Correspondent
