JHANG, May 7: Dacoits looted a truck and passengers of two buses near Rajabad, some 35 kilometres from here, early on Tuesday.

According to the driver of a bus (LXP 5220), Abdur Razak, 15 young men had blocked Jhang-Chiniot Road at 2.30am by parking trollies. They were looting the passengers of a bus (JA 3650) when Razak’s Islamabad-bound bus, coming from Multan, reached there.

Five armed men forced their entry into Razak’s bus and started depriving the passengers of cash and other valuables. Two other dacoits snatched cash and an expensive wrist watch from the driver of a truck (FDA 9363).

The dacoits collected Rs109,256, wrist watches and jewellery from the passengers and escaped.

Razak said the dacoits were 20 to 25 years old.

Jhang SSP Tariq Masood Yasin reached the spot and the entire area was cordoned off. No arrests have been reported so far.
