LAHORE, Aug 31: The Punjab government is responsible for the treatment of wife of Habib Jalib till her complete recovery and there are clear instructions of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to the health department and administration of Mayo Hospital that even expensive medicines should be provided to her on government expenses.

According to a handout, Punjab Information Secretary Orya Maqbool Jan said this while talking to reporters after inquiring about the health of Jalib’s wife in Mayo Hospital.

He said that he had come here on the instructions of chief minister to see the treatment facilities being provided to the lady.

He said that Jalib was custodian of democracy and his efforts against dictatorship could not be forgotten.

He said the government and the nation was grateful to Jalib in this regard.

Jan said the government had provided Rs500,000 financial assistance to Jalib’s wife a few weeks ago, which she accepted.

He also obtained information about her health from doctors on duty. He also inquired about the problems from the family.

Jalib’s wife said she was thankful to Shahbaz Sharif for providing her financial assistance and taking interest in her treatment.
