GUJRANWALA, Aug 31: A joint team of the task force on essential items and the food department raided two flour mills in the city on Sunday and sealed these for selling flour at exorbitant rates.

Iqbal Flour mills and Hasnat Flour mills were selling 20kg flour bag for Rs395 against the government set rate of Rs375. Food department officials have been deployed at other flour mills to ensure flour supply to the market in Ramazan at official rates.

GASTRO: Gastroenteritis killed a minor boy and sent dozens of other people to hospitals here on Sunday.

Three-year-old Awais of Ferozwala was taken to the district headquarters hospital after he fell prey to gastroenteritis. He succumbed to the disease at the hospital. Reports say that dozens of people suffering from gastroenteritis have been admitted to hospitals in various parts of the city.

VEHICLES ATTACKED: A mentally deranged man smashed the windows of more than 15 vehicles, including motorway police cars, and injured three motorway police officials in DC Colony on Sunday. The man first attacked private vehicles with stones and bricks and then turned to motorway police cars when police officials tried to catch him. He also injured three motorway police officials before he was arrested and handed to the district police.—Correspondent
